A series of plein air studies of my neighborhood trees painted during the pandemic years. Each painting investigates dancing branches while celebrating the negative space they carve from sky; obsessing equally over form and emptiness. The snowy painting is not plein air technique, but is an exercise in obsessing over the negative space of branches.
